So here’s the latest! I just got back from seeing Lynyrd Skynyrd in concert at Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee, NC! The show was amazing and it was my first time seeing these guys, EVER, in concert! We got to meet the band back stage, as you can see in the picture attached to this blog! It was very brief but long enough for Johnny and Peter to both be kind to me and make me feel happy that I was spending my birthday at their show! We got up close and personal seats so I was able to get a ton of photographs and catch one of Sparky’s pics he threw after a big solo! All in all I have lots of cool stuff to put in a collage that will one day go into my recording studio. Lets not forget that my boyfriend literally threw my CD on stage to Johnny Van Zant at the end of the show and Johnny graciously picked it up, smiled, and took it off stage with him. Honestly that was one of the best moments, and I will never forget it! I just hope he liked it and heard the potential! Time will tell!
This brings me to SupaPass! I am the first American artist to be featured on a new site based in the U.K. called www.supapass.com. This is a new revolutionary music fan club! If you subscribe for approximately $2 per month you get exclusive access to my live broadcasted shows, and all kinds of archives, and backstage footage! My writing partner Scott Raines and I will be uploading a new song each month for your listening pleasure and totally accept your opinions on what you are hearing! Please be nice though, because we like to communicate out of love! That being said, I am so stoked for you to hear all the new interesting styling of our new material!
Also my writing partner Scott Raines just got back from L.A. where he recorded with the Artimus Pyle Band and a slew of other famous rockers at the “Rock N’ Roll Autograph Show!” This was a performance as well as a recording session of a new song representing “St. Jude’s Children Hospital!” The song should be on their website any day now! The song is called “If I had the Time, I could change the world.” Check it out when you get the chance, and I’ll check back to provide updates as they come! Love you all!
I just had to share with you all that Scott Raines & I had an amazing studio recording session with Grammy & Dove award winning producer & former bassist for DC Talk, Otto Price. In the studio we also worked with drummer Tate Cunningham of “SafetySuit” who just got off tour with “Daughtry,” and incredible guitarist and sweetheart, Greg Hagan who plays with “LeAnn Rimes”, and “Little Big Town,” among countless others for numerous televised performances. Also we had my life long friend and agent, Ed Reynolds who joined us in the studio while we created our master piece. We started off the session going over the song and with Greg’s help tweaked some parts of the song that needed a bit of a lift. The song we recorded is a song that I wrote the melody and lyrics to called “You and Me,” that I popped over to my writing partner Scott Raines to create his music masterpiece and bring our song to life. Before even arriving in the studio the song was without a lifting chorus and just kind of chugged along. Otto felt the song needed to have a chorus written in and asked me to do that within a couple of weeks. I probably wrote at least 6 different versions while also changing some key lyrics in the verses and bridge of the original song. After sending them over to Otto and weeding out the lackluster versions of the newly written Chorus’s, we settled on the final version of the chorus that I had come up with in that short time. I met up with Scott, and we recorded the song with his music on our cell phones while sitting at a picnic table in a park. The studio session was only in a few days so we had to get it mostly done, while leaving some creative space for the crew to have input. This proved to be challenging, although extremely exciting and a good experience for us. So as we are all sitting there finally in the studio together going over the song, Greg hears some changes he wants to make to the arrangement to give us more of a genre, maybe “Colbie Caillat,” meets “Sheryl Crow,” meets “Taylor Swift.” Basically it is our own unique sound with probably every artist I’ve ever been influenced by, which is a lot. But to narrow it down, it’s a pop/country vibe that can only be described by the listener, you. So after we make some changes to arrangement and about 2 tweaks to the melody line where I went down with the note, and Greg & Scott heard it go up…we were ready for Greg and Tate to lay down their parts. Everything was happening so fast, before I knew it the guys were done and heading out and Scott was laying down his acoustic guitar parts in lightening speed and I was up next! I didn’t know how it was going to go. I was so impressed with these guys and how professional they were that I was a little intimidated. I didn’t even know if I was going to remember how the newly written song was going to go and was I going to remember the order. I was so afraid I at first asked Scott to stay back there with me in the booth as he laughed and said, “you’ve got this.” I couldn’t even remember what key the song was in, when asked because I was so flustered. Here again we were moving at lightening speed and before I knew it I had maybe sang through the song 2 to 3 times with Otto happy with the product. I couldn’t even hear myself through the headphones but we moved so quick I just went for it and didn’t say anything. After mentioning it to Otto, he said he didn’t want to change anything because it was making me sing out which really added to the song and didn’t want to mess with that. I concurred with Otto and we continued on with background vocals. After we creatively laid down BV parts with myself and Scott Raines, then it probably took Otto mere minutes to produce something that sounded ready for radio. I can sit here and say that I was blown away but what I was hearing. Funny thing was we didn’t even have the bass recorded yet or any of the other extra instruments and sounds we wanted to add. So as Otto informed me the song was only 20% done I can only imagine how it will turn out. With this song under our belt we plan on seeking more investors for our endeavor of recording a radio ready EP for promoting our music and getting signed with a record label. I tell you what, I can officially say, It is very hard work, but well worth it! I can’t wait to share the tune with you guys, and just wanted to share with you how the session in Nashville turned out. Special thanks to our investors who I will not name as to respect their privacy! THANK YOU FANS! New music coming to you real soon!

Hi there, my devout friends & fans! I thought you would like to know that I’m working on writing several new songs at the moment with my musical partner in crime Scott Raines. The new musical direction is a cool breeze vibe, lifting your soul in flight through the cloudless skies. There’s lots of growing, falling, and sweet loving. In my opinion it’s a hot recipe of home cooked music ready for you to indulge. So throw your napkin in your laps, and lift your plates in the air. Or better yet, be the first one in the kitchen waiting for the timer to chime and the fresh music to be served. While your there check out a new song we’re stirring in the pot called “You & Me,” and another called “Waking up.” You can find these in my YouTube kitchen at the right of this page, or click on these links.

I recently came back from Maui and had the opportunity to sing with the Hawaiian band “Paradise” at the Grand Wailea Resort on the second night of the Maui Film Festival. Everyone there was so amazing, I can’t even begin to explain! I also became inspired and came back with some fresh tunes to share with all of you! One of those songs is a live recording featured on a video which is located on reverbnation (the red star icon on this page.) We have enough material for a second album and I’m confident we will be recording soon! Please keep on believing in yourself and your passions because every day will be rewarding and without regrets. One day you will know why God had you climb that steep mountain in the first place! Believe and LOVE!

Also, I forgot to mention to you earlier that Scott Raines & I finally met up at the studio and recorded you guys some YouTube videos! Honestly, it took me some time to warm up to the idea, because I am not used to having a camera in my face! It is harder than it looks, right? After a nice break & visit & pep talk from Artemus Pyle, I realized, “this aint so bad.” I finally loosened up and hopefully Scott Raines does some serious editing and makes me look even better..Haha ;-) Well, we will let you know when those suckers get posted on YouTube! In the mean time, pat yourselves on the back for a job well done in raising the funds for the album release, and get ready for what is to come! <3

Hi friends! Wow, I had a fantastic show with Nikki Calloway at Packs Tavern last Saturday during Bele Chere & looking forward to my show this Thursday Aug.4, 2011 from 8pm-11pm w/Scott Raines!
Thanks to Tez Sherard, Scott Raines and I had a great time meeting and listening to some really great players at Hole n’ Da Wall in Asheville, NC. Tez is the sweetest ever! I’ve never seen someone who can play the heck out of some drums while texting flawlessly at the same time. Hehe. You can catch Tez touring around this fall with Edwin McCain promoting his newest album, “Mercy Bound.”
Also my cousin Caitlin got me involved in knitting scarves for the 2012 Special Olympics, and I just love it! I admire her for volunteering her time and it is contagious! She and I had a great knitting session today and will keep on going until the Feb deadline. There are specific requirements and you can check it out at the link below. If you want to get involved and you like to knit, this is YOUR chance to make the participants of this wonderful event feel extra loved & warm!
